1. Introduction

At BukExchange, we strive to ensure a seamless book-buying experience. Since our marketplace connects you directly with independent booksellers, vendors are responsible for their own return and refund processes. This policy outlines the general guidelines for returns, but always check the individual vendor’s policy on their store page for specific terms.


2. Return Window & Eligibility

  • Standard return period: Most vendors accept returns within 7–14 days of delivery (check the vendor’s policy at checkout).
  • Exceptions:
    • Damaged/defective books: Always eligible for return (vendor covers costs).
    • Wrong book shipped: Vendor must rectify (refund/replacement).
    • “Changed my mind” returns: Up to the vendor’s discretion (some may charge restocking fees).
Non-Returnable Items
  • Custom/signed books (personalized by the vendor).
  • Digital books or audiobooks (non-tangible items).
  • Books with obvious misuse (water damage, torn pages, markings).

3. How to Initiate a Return

  1. Contact the vendor directly via your BukExchange account (“My Orders” → “Request Return”).
  2. Provide details: Photos (if damaged/wrong item), order number, and reason.
  3. Wait for approval: The vendor will respond with return instructions.
Shipping Back Returns
  • Buyer pays return shipping unless the vendor’s error (wrong/damaged item).
  • Use tracked shipping: BukExchange is not liable for lost return packages.

4. Refunds

  • Processing time: 3–5 business days after the vendor receives the return.
  • Refund method: Original payment (or store credit if vendor offers).
  • Partial refunds: Possible if the book has minor damage (vendor decides).

5. Vendor Responsibilities

  • Clearly state return policies on their store page.
  • Respond to return requests within 48 hours.
  • Cover costs for their errors (wrong book, damage in transit).

6. BukExchange’s Role

  • We facilitate communication but do not handle logistics.
  • If a vendor violates policies, report to support@bukexchange.com for mediation.

7. No Exchanges

  • Vendors do not offer direct exchanges.
  • To get a different book, return the original and place a new order.
